Education & Employment Pt. 2
When you graduate, jobs want experience. To get experience you need the job. You forgo getting a job by going to school. As reward for educating yourself a job should be waiting for you. At least that was my understanding

Ode to OUTKAST!!!!
What can I say about the greatest group these ears have ever heard?
When did you fall in love with OutKast?
Glad you asked. I fell in love with Outkast with their masterpiece Aquemini. That album is my Sgt Pepper. Let me give you some background. I first heard of OutKast in middle school. A kid was wearing a t-shirt with the album cover of Southernplayalistic....I ask my friend Raymond Raymos who was that he said, "That's OutKast. They from Atlanta, but they are good." During that time the only way to get air play was to eihter be from New York or LA. Fast forward to summer of '96. "Elevators (Me and You)" was in heavy rotation on MTV. That video played all summer long. My friend Andre bought the CD and we would listen to it just about every morning before school. Fast forward '98 the highly anticipated release of Aquemini was at hand. As a subscription holder of The Source I read the 5 mic article. Later, I would cut out the article and paste it to my school binder. After read the feature on the group and the article about the their latest volume of word, I hate to admit but I was still skeptical of them worthy of 5 mics. The last person to get five mics was B.I.G. before him was A tribe called Quest with their back to back works, and before them was Ice Cube. By this time I had to hear the album because "Rosa Parks" was all over the airwaves and "Skew it on the bar-b" was on video rotation. Well, we going to drive to TX from FL for Xmas and I needed something to listen to. I asked my friend John to borrow his CD so I could copy it. John is a white boy with Redneck tendencies. He drinks heavily, wear a fatigue hat with a hook on it, and does dip. His father was County Manager so John was about as Redneck as The Pope is Muslim. I ask John is the album good. He said, "Rosa Parks is the worst song." Well, I took that to mean. Since I like "Rosa Parks" then every song must be banging. I made a copy of the Cd to a tape for my Walkman. I didn't listen to it until we were on the road and I was out of options. I did this on purpose so I could give the album my full attention. See usually when you get a CD you don't really listen to it until your driving or cleaning the house or whatever. I pressed play and heard the melodic tones of "Hold On, Be Strong" by the time I got "Synthesizer", this was my favorite album ever. I read in the article from The Source that "West Savannah" was taken off Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and I'm wondering to myself why. As Big Boi spits about where he's from. As the albums ends, I haven't fast forward not even to skip the skits, and I'm having a hard deciding what song is my favorite. I come to the realization that I LOVE OUTKAST. That my friends is when I fell in love and spread the gospel of Aquemini.

Yankee Go Home!
This blog was inspired by tonight episode of Real Talk with Bill Mahr. The troops need to come home. Why are we there? That still has not been made clear since America arrived in the middle east. Are we really fighting terrorism? What are our soldiers dieing for? To me it sounds like we're over there fighting like in the Vietnam War. Fighting Communism that never happened. The troops need to come home and guard our borders from terrorism here, as well as domestic terrorism. Also I hate when we help other countries. We need to fix home first.

Education and Employment
These two things in the eyes of older Americans seem to go hand in hand. If you have a "good" education than it would lead to a "good" job or career. I was looking at Micheal Moore's Capitalism again the other day. When the boom happened after the war we were all making money and education didn't account for much because you could still live well. Years later however that all changed. I think about these two entities now because of not only my situation but everyone in our country. When your young your parents give the blue print to life. Finish school, get a job, get married, and then have kids. I finished school but there are no job for what I went to school for. I often wonder had I chosen a different major would i be working and enjoying my work. I get frustrated that some of the bosses that Ive had, had less education than I. I was never promoted to get there positions however. So does education trump experience? But experience is education, kind of a catch 22. Had I not gone to college maybe I would have a career by now as many former associates I know do. I honestly hope things do get better for us all and we can enter a new age of prosperity.

The search continues
Looking for a job. I just need something to tie me down until I get my new career started in a few months. I know what your thinking why did you just wait until you had a new job before you quite your last. Point taken and noted. It was complicated, I could work on my new career with my current position. I've gotten a few interviews but need something asap. So I hope all goes well. Later y'all.
